I happened to come across this meaningful story this morning which I think it will benefit many of you(accuse or victim) if you spend just 3 min of your time to read and ponder upon the actions you have done whether unintentionally or intentionally in the past. This story makes me think twice before throwing my temper on anyone in the future as you won't know if it may leave a deep dark scar on that person's heart forever.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There once was a little boy who had a nasty temper. He would just throw his tantrum on anyone, even to those who did not provoke him. The temper just went out of control. His father knew that if this were to persist it would jeopardize his life in the future. So, his father gave him a bag of nails, told him that every time when he lost his temper once, he must hammer a nail into the back of the fence.
And so it began. On the first day, the boy drivo 37 nails into the fence. Days passed and over the next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down. Along the way he discovered that it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence. Finally the day came when the boy didn't have to hammer any nail into the fence. He had learnt not to lose his temper that easily anymore.
Excited over his success, he told his father about it. Then, his father told him to pull out all the nails. He complied, and took them away. As soon as he had done with it, he went to find his father again with all the removed nails. The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence.
"You have done well, my son. But look at the holes that you drove those nails on it. Notice, that the fence will never be the same again," he said.
"When you say things in anger, you cause a wound and leave a scar in people's heart, just like how you carved a hole on the fence. You can stab a man with a knife and draw it out once. But my son, no matter how many times you say 'I'm sorry', even though the would is healed, the scar will still be there," he added.
"A verbal wound can leave nasty scars on people as bad as a physical one. You must remember, people who loved you are very rare jewels, indeed. They make your day, make you smile, make your life like a rainbow. They lend you their ears, they share words of praise and they always open their hearts to us. Appreciate them, my son."
I have been trying very hard to keep this blog updated.
But seems that it's gonna continue to get outdated.
Work is driving me crazy,
with piles and piles of work staring at me.
Due to colleagues departure,
i have been assigned to take over his pressure.
I have moved up to the next level of SEO,
which makes me fall back to square zero.
I have to start learning new stuff,
and I hope for a new staff to take over those stuff.
Training very hard for my Napha,
realizing that gold award and me is not that far.
After ten months of working,
I began to feel so tiring.
Asked myself why i have to do this,
which made me feel so pissed.
I wish i am rich,
so that i can spend without feeling an itch.
BaoBei's school is starting in 1 month time,
and we will have very little time for each other.
No matter what, we will always love one another,
and live happily ever after...
Yesterday(22May), was on leave. Reason was simple - to accompany baobei as it was her rest day. Went Yishun Stadium in the morning with her and completed 2.4km in 12:08 min. Quite disappointed with myself. Targeted to finish it by 11:45 min actually. Due to tight schedule, instead of going to the gym, went home after that which caused her not able to run her treadmill. Shall accompany you to the gym in a few days time k? =)
Went K-box(Marina Square) in the afternoon. Sang the 3 - 7pm session which was seriously not enough for me. Sang quite a number of really nice old songs. Past memories started to flow back while singing those old songs. I believed baobei did remember some of our sweet moments while I was singing. Overall, the best thing was to be able to hear her singing...
Soon, it was 7pm. Was forced by their hi-tech system to leave. (After 7pm, we were allowed to sing our last song, and the system will prevent us from selecting songs and instead, auto play some weird songs.... We got no choice, but to leave.) Not very hungry yet due to the refillable soft drinks, potato chips and nuggets. Thus, accompanied bei to do her shopping and at the same time shopped for my long-sleeve shirt for work. Tried on a few pieces and bought one that she said was the nicest. Didn't hesitate to buy the shirt because of GSS. She bought herself some clothes too which satisfied her shopping crave.
Had Jacksplace for dinner before heading home.
What a tiring yet enjoyable day we had!
bei, you can do it. :)
Baobei, thanks for your letters. It was so important to me as it allowed me to understand how you are feeling. Just wanna tell you no matter what happens, I will still love you. Nothing is gonna change my love for you ok? =)
Love you eternity.
